Dr. R.K. Thakur Hospital is a 40-bed multi-speciality hospital in Gopalganj, Bihar. Our founder and chief surgeon, Dr. Rajnish Kumar Thakur, started it in 2019. He comes from Sidhwalia block of this district, and after training and working in Patna and New Delhi he chose to return home, so that families here could receive modern surgical care without travelling far.
Our main focus is laparoscopic surgery (keyhole surgery, done through small cuts with a camera). We also offer laser treatment for piles, fissure and fistula, kidney stone and prostate surgery, general surgery and emergency operations. We are empanelled under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY for general surgery and laparoscopic surgery packages, such as gallbladder stone, hernia, hydrocele and appendix operations. As of mid-2025, gynaecology and urology packages were not part of our empanelment. After our doctor examines you, our Ayushman help desk checks your card and tells you, before admission, whether your operation is covered.

Compared with open surgery, most patients have less pain, smaller scars and a shorter hospital stay. We use it for gallbladder stones, appendix, many hernias and other problems.
